Many parents do not realize that school is not mandatory for children under the age of 8 in Washington.

This means kids do not have to be enrolled in school until their 8th birthday. Not many parents want to keep their children out of school completely, during this time. However, you do have options. Someday School gives you the choice of enrolling your child part tims ane or on a flexible schedule. This way, families can spend more time together, or experiment with homeschooling.

While attending, children will set their own goals for what they want to do and learn. They will be invited, but not required, to attend structured classes and activities. They will also be encouraged to pursue their own ideas and interests, and share what they learn with peers and staff members.
