About the Class
About
Wonder Kids is great for children who love to create, but it is not a class about producing great art. It is a class about exploring and respecting nature, asking questions, making choices, and trying new things.
Each class will start out with an introduction to a topic. Children will be invited to share what they know, ask questions, and make predictions. They will be introduced to the project of the day, and the supplies on hand. They will be encouraged to try their own ideas, and find out what happens. For example, if
a project involves using found items from nature to make prints on paper, some children may decide to
use the objects as paintbrushes instead, or to glue the objects directly onto the paper, or to press the items into clay.
The class will end with every child having a chance to share what they made, did, or learned.
Parents or caregivers are asked to stay at the class to supervise their children if their children are under 10. Parents may choose participate with their child, or watch from the sidelines, depending on their child's level of independence, comfort level, etc.
Please have children wear clothes that they are allowed to get dirty, or bring smocks to wear over their clothes!
